Based in Wickford, Essex and I will generally cover the areas of London and the Home Counties. However, I will, on occasion, provide my services to whole of the UK and even abroad.
I have been painting murals for over 20 years and have not looked back since. Having studied at the Southend-on-Sea School of Art and Design and then to the University of North London, I have always had an affinity with murals. After studying the styles of murals and trompe l’oeil in various books, I gained a thorough understanding of the style, which allowed me to then develop my own style and method of painting.
A few years ago I was given the opportunity to produce a step-by-step instruction book of painting trompe l'oeil called 'Trompe L'Oeil Interiors' and then less than a year later I produced a follow up book called 'Trompe L'Oeil Bible'. With these books I aimed to help budding muralists like I was myself all those years ago.
I have also been fortunate on numerous occasions to demonstrate my painting for television including programs on BBC1 and ITV1. See more details here.
Before undertaking each mural I will produce some preliminary designs to give an idea of how the finished piece will look. Once you are happy I will then supply a quotation for the prospective work.
As an extension of my mural work I also provide a variety of classes in trompe l'oeil scenes & effects at my home based studio. See more details here.
I will always take great care and consideration of the architectural detailing, colour and mood of the environment before undertaking my work. By doing this, the mural can be designed to embrace the characteristics of the building and so that it is sensitive to the style and period of the setting.
